John Comitis says he is looking to add ten new players to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership season.

Comitis purchased Mpumalanga Black Aces from the Morfou brothers last month, and is relocating the club to Cape Town, under a new name, to be officially announced at the Cape Town Stadium on June 29.

The former Ajax Cape Town CEO has retained just 14 of Aces’ players from last season.

“We will be adding another ten,” he said on Thursday.

“We are busy working around the clock and are confident we will have a competitive squad.”

Comitis says the club are keen to keep veteran winger Bryce Moon at the club, but added that the final decision lies with new coach Eric Tinkler.

“We are just waiting for the coach to inform us whether to proceed,” he said.

Phakaaathi understands that Aces are also interested in striker Siphelele Mthembu, who has been placed on the transfer list by Kaizer Chiefs.

Tinkler is currently on holiday and will only arrive in Cape Town at the end of the month.

Comitis originally intended to keep Muhsin Ertugral as coach of his new club, but he was snapped up by Orlando Pirates.

“When I heard they were chasing him I had to let him go,” said Comitis.

“But I am very happy with Eric.”
