Bafana bring in Kutumela for Swaziland clash

Shakes Mashaba has made three changes to his Bafana Bafana side for Wednesday’s Cosafa Cup semifinal against Swaziland in Windhoek.

Baroka FC’s  Thabiso Kutumela will repace Gift Motupa, who is suspended after being sent off after scoring in the quarterfinal against Lesotho.

At the back, national Under-20 defender Tercious Malepe comes in at centre back for Bloemfontein Celtic’s Tshepo Rikhosto.

And in midfield, Thembinkosi Lorch has been dropped, with Maritzburg United’s Deolin Mekoa taking his place.

“We went past our first and biggest hurdle with the victory over Lesotho, and we believe that the boys will play the football we know against Swaziland. We know that iSihlangu will come at us and we are expecting it, but we have set ourselves a target so we need to ensure that we reach it,” said Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba.

Bafana are already without defender Kwanda Mngonyama and midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase for the rest of the tournament, both sent back home because of long-term injuries.

Bafana XI: Pieterse; Sikhakhane, Coetzee, Malepe, Moerane; Modiba, Mobara, Phiri, Mekoa; Moseamedi, Kutumela

Subs: February, Gumede, Rikhotso, Stuurman, Masuku, Lorch
