Ahead of the Rio Olympics, Banyana Banyana head coach Vera Pauw says the team needs more support from Sports and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula.

This comes after Pauw revealed that the South African football Association and Sasol, the team sponsors, have exhausted their funds.

Pauw calls on Mbalula to intervene and help the national women’s team with funding for a national Banyana camp.

“We all know, and the management has been very open about that, we have been struggling with our cash flows.

“And everybody knows that Sasol are losing money because of the low oil price, but within that side they are doing everything, really everything. They reached out into their resources to help the team,” Pauw told EWN.
