Sundowns topple Chiefs in African club rankings

Absa Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns are now ranked above Premier Soccer League rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the latest African club rankings.

According to the latest rankings published by Footballdatabase.com, Amakhosi have dropped to position 10th, while the Brazilians have moved up to ninth position.

Orlando Pirates maintained their 24th position, but now the Buccaneers are ranked below Bidvest Wits, who have moved up to position 22.

Bloemfontein Celtic are out of the top 50, having moved down to position 68, while Platinum Stars have moved up to position 51.

Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe lead the standings, followed by fellow DRC counterparts Vita Club. Al-Merreikh of Sudan are third, followed by Tunisia’s Esperance and Etoile du Sahel, who completes the top five.
