Mbombela United captain, Bednog Manyike says their Nedbank Cup run will not affect their National First Division (NFD) campaign as they have a squad big enough to compete in both competitions.

“We want to do well in both the league and Nedbank Cup. We have a big squad and can compete in the Nedbank Cup without it affecting our league run. We are going all the way in the league and we still believe we can finish top because we are still to play leaders Baroka and second placed Witbank Spurs,” he said.

Mbombela are sixth in the NFD log and are in with a chance of qualifying for the promotional play-offs.

The Nelspruit based team will take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Ke Yona Last 16 round on Saturday night at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
