Midfielder Teko Modise would like Mamelodi Sundowns to pick up where they left off before the international break.

Sundowns have enjoyed an impressive Absa Premiership campaign so far and find themselves leading the league table. The Brazilians will be in action over the weekend in the Nedbank Cup when they go up against Mbombela United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Modise stressed the importance of a strong finish from Pitso Mosimane’s men with seven game to play before they claim the league title.

“We are looking forward to resuming the league. We ended on a good run and want to continue doing so. There are only seven games left to play this season and we have to make sure that we finish strong as a team,” Modise says.

The former Bafana Bafana player believes their good run this season is thanks to the individual brilliance in the squad.

“Look my tea- mates have been displaying great football recently. We have won a lot of games because of all the players in the team. Yes Kama, Castro and Dolly have been pivotal in their roles. The likes of Kekana as well, he scored a beautiful goal for Bafana and I think he has a chance of cementing his place in the national team. So with all these factors taken into consideration we will do best by going all the way in the league and in other competitions.”
