Banyana Banyana beat hosts Cameroon 2-0 in the first of two international friendly matches played in Douala, Cameroon on Friday.

The second friendly match will take place on Monday and coach Vera Pauw’s charges will look forward to wrap up a good work-out ahead of the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

In Friday’s encounter, Banyana Banyana went to the break leading 1-0 through a goal by defender Lebohang Ramalepe before rounding off a good win with a second half goal by industrious Mpumi Nyandeni.

The match marked a historic moment for captain Janine van Wyk who was playing in her 124th match for Banyana Banyana and matched Portia Modise’s same number of games.
