Clinton Larsen has stepped down as Bloemfontein Celtic coach.

Bloemfontein Celtic have confirmed that Clinton Larsen has stepped down as coach.

It’s not clear at this stage as to why Larsen resigned because the team has done reasonably well under his mentorship this season.

Celtic have confirmed via their official Twitter account that they have parted ways with Larsen.

Siwelele are currently in sixth position on the log, having won four, drawn four and lost three of their 11 matches played.

They trail top-placed Bidvest Wits by 10 points, having collected 16 points from 11 games.

Celtic lost 2-0 to Mpumalanga Black Aces at home at Dr Molemela Stadium this past weekend and it is believed that club owner Max Tshabalala was unhappy with this result and called a meeting for this morning.

It was at this meeting that Larsen apparently tendered his resignation.

In the meantime, Duncan Lechesa has been appointed as the interim coach.
