Niang spent the last six months on loan at Cyprus side AEL Limassol and he is still contracted to Downs until the end of the next season. But a source revealed the Buccaneers have now intensified their efforts to bring the striker on board after missing out in the last transfer window.
The source also said Downs coach Pitso Mosimane is expected to have a look at Niang before deciding on his future.
