Bongani Zungu has confirmed that he will leave Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season to pursue his overseas dream.
Zungu, whose contract with Sundowns ends in June next year, has made no secret of his desire to play overseas.
“It’s not about money. If it was about money, I would stay here at Sundowns. Going abroad, from what I have seen in the national team, really makes a player improve. That’s what I am aiming to do, to improve and grow,” explained Zungu.
“I watch Andile (Jali) and I can see that he has grown. I looked at what Benni (McCarthy) did and I need that.”
It is understood that Zungu has attracted interest from clubs in Portugal and England.
There have been reports that South African giants Kaizer Chiefs are also interested in signing the Bafana Bafana midfielder, but Zungu says he is only interested in an overseas move.
