De Sa signs new Ajax contract

Roger De Sa has signed a new contract with Ajax Cape Town, thereby ending speculation about his future.

Ajax Cape Town have announced that coach Roger De Sa has signed a new deal with the club, which will see him stay at Ikamva until 2018.

De Sa had been linked with a move to Egyptian giants Al-Ahly and Zamalek at one stage and lately he was linked with Mamelodi Sundowns, but Ajax have ended speculation surrounding his future by announcing that he has signed a new contract with them.

“Roger has been a revelation at Ajax Cape Town. He has embraced the club’s philosophy of promoting youth players to the PSL team. His personality and commitment in his first stint at Ajax Cape Town has shown great results and the management had no hesitation in extending his contract,” Ajax CEO Ari Efstathiou told the club’s official website.

“We are confident in his abilities and are expecting him to ensure that with his guidance Ajax Cape Town will reach new heights.”

De Sa, who joined Ajax from Orlando Pirates in February 2014, has done well with the club.

In 2014/15 season, De Sa led the Urban Warriors to the Nedbank Cup final.

Ajax have already lifted the MTN8 trophy under De Sa this season after defeating defending champions Kaizer Chiefs in the final in Port Elizabeth.
