Kaizer Chiefs are said to be considering rekindling their interest in Bidvest Wits’ Thabang Monare in January when the transfer window reopens.

A source close to the situation said Chiefs received hints that the player was as interested in joining them, while Wits could also be swayed.

“Wits’ arm can be twisted now that their new recruits have settled well. They didn’t even want to listen to the offer at first because Monare has been a key player. But the coach knows he wants to fulfil his dream of playing for Chiefs,” said a source.

Meanwhile, as reported by Phakaaathi earlier, Wits are set to release a number of players during the January period to make way for new recruits.
