Phakaaathi has learnt that Free State Stars are considering to release former Kaizer Chiefs striker Michelle Katsvairo.

The Zimbabwean striker joined Ea Lla Koto from CAPS United in January but has failed to command regular football in the team and is yet to score for Nikola Kavazovic’s side.

He has made only three league appearances for Stars and has failed to make the bench in the last three games for Ea Lla Koto.

“Stars were struggling to score goals and they signed Katsvairo with the hope of solving this problem, but now they have realised that he is not the solution for them. Talk is that they will release him at the end of the season,” said a source close to the team.

Meanwhile, Stars have extended Sifiso Mbhele’s contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The defender’s contract was set to expire at the end of June.
