Maritzburg United are said to be seeking compensation from Kaizer Chiefs for the work they did on developing Wiseman Meyiwa, whose age has been under the spotlight lately.

There has been a barrage of media reports claiming that Meyiwa was previously known as Wiseman Moshoeshoe and played for Maritzburg’s development academy.

“I have heard that Maritzburg are now contemplating writing to Chiefs to ask for compensation, for they claim to have developed the player for four years.

“If that is true than it puts the player’s age in question because he can’t possibly be 17, if he was at United for that long before going to Chiefs,” said a source.
