Polokwane City’s stand-in coach, Makweni Mayala says they want the team to go into the Christmas break having moved away from the relegation zone.
Mayala is filling the coaching position while newly appointed Julio Leal sorts out his work permit issues.
“We take every match very seriously, but the one we playing with Golden Arrows on the December 19 is very crucial, and we will make sure we collect maximum points,” said Mayala.
Mayala is aware that seventh-placed Arrows are not going to be an easy task, but believes his charges have what it takes to crack them.
“You must not forget that Arrows have been performing very well this season, so we will go into this encounter with guns blazing.”
While most teams gave their players some time off this week, Mayala and his boys were busy, already preparing for their last game this year.
“Preparations are going very well. I’m just worried with so much time between our last and next match, this is not even about players having more time to train, because our last match was a win and the moral is high and so we want to keep the momentum going.”
