The team has confirmed on their twitter account that they have parted ways with Bilankulu.
Phakaaathi has learnt that it would be no surprise if Bilankulu is revealed as a new Maritzburg United signing on Thursday or Friday. The Team of Choice is believed to have already made contact with Celtic regarding his availability before he had his contract terminated.
A source told Phakaaathi that Ernst Middendorp had named Bilankulu as one of the players he would like to have in his arsenal as he prepares for the relegation dog-fight.
Celtic have promised to release a statement later on to clarify issues around Bilankulu’s sudden departure.
Bilankulu’s release follows that of striker, Hellings “Gabadinho” Mhango who signed a pre-contract with Bidvest Wits, a move that irked Celtic owner, Max Tshabalala who ordered him not to train with rest of the squad.
Meanwhile, Tumelo Mogapi has also left Celtic and joined Maritzburg. Mogapi’s contract was coming to an end in June and he opted not to renew with Phunya Selesele.
