Khumalo was with the Pretoria-based outfit for six months before opting out of his contract to rekindle his working relationship with coach Gavin Hunt at Bidvest Wits.
The two worked together at Matsatsantsa a Pitori, helping the club win the league title before Khumalo moved to Europe.
“The six months at Supersport were a bit of a roller coaster and both parties agreed to part ways. I personally thought a new fresh start would be great. It happens in football you know, sometimes situations don’t work out the way you want them to. I have moved into a new environment and I believe it will be a better one. It is up to me to make the best of it,” Khumalo told the Wits website.
Khumalo is also delighted at the prospect of playing with some of his former SuperSport United teammates.
“I do know some of the players here already, and I have worked with coach Gavin Hunt before, I am familiar with his style of coaching and what he will expect from me as a player. It is very encouraging when a coach believes in you and your abilities. If you have a coach that believes in you, the sky is your limit, actually there is no limit.”
