The youngster scored his fourth goal of the season against Chippa United when his side handed the Chilli Boys a 3-1 drubbing on Sunday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and has made his intention of finish as the top goal scorer of the season known.

“I would like to be the top goal scorer for this season and that’s what I’m working towards. It felt amazing to score the first goal of 2016.”

Wits are two points clear at the top after their convincing win in Port Elizabeth over the weekend, they have collected 29 points in 13 league games. Mahlambi believes their victory on Sunday was the outcome of teamwork.

“We need to give credit to the team, they worked very hard yesterday and I would like to give a special mention to Gavin Hunt. We claimed the three points thanks to good teamwork, and some special goals from James (Keene), Ben (Motshwari) and myself,” Mahlambi told the Wits website.
