Goals galore in the NFD

It was goals galore in the opening round of the National First Division, with no fewer than 18 scored on Saturday.

AmaZulu won 1-0 at home to Witbank Spurs, while Moroka Swallows went down 2-0 at Cape Town All Stars.

Black Leopards who made it to the promotion playoffs at the end of last season, completed a 2-0 win over Milano United.

In a five-goal affair, African Warriors edged FC Cape Town 3-2. That would not be the highest scoring match of the opening round, however, as Mbombela United and Thanda Royal Zulu played out to a scintillating 3-3 draw.

In the final match of the day, Highlands Park drew 1-1 with Royal Eagles.
