Our home, our fortress – Wits

Yet to taste a defeat at home at Bidvest Stadium, the talk in the Bidvest Wits' camp is of turning the stadium into a "fortress".

The crowd is starting to pack it regularly, creating a festive mood with the club’s brass brand keeping them entertained.

On the pitch, the Clever Boys have given fans something to sing about, registering two wins over Golden Arrows and Ajax Cape Town as well as a draw with AmaZulu on Tuesday.

In that match, the Clever Boys snatched the point in optional time to keep their home record intact.

“There is good character, good attitude and big hearts in this team,” coach Gavin Hunt said.

Mathew Pattison and Onismor Bhasera are two players ready to don the Wits jersey. But Bhasera will have to work hard to replace solid Katlego Pule, above, at left-back in the starting XI when the outfit travel to Pretoria on Saturday to face Mamelodi Sundowns.
