News coming out of Zimbabwe is that Hwange want R2 million from Maritzburg United for the services of striker Evans Rusike.

Rusike spent two weeks on trial at the Team of Choice and word is that he impressed coach Mandla Ncikazi, however the price tag put on his head could stall a possible move for him.

The 23-year-old is seen as a possible replacement for fellow Zimbabwean striker Terrence Mandaza who was released by Maritzburg.

Hwange spokesperson Eltah Sanangura confirmed to the NewsDay that Rusike had impressed Maritzburg and they were now considering the offer tabled by the club.

“We acknowledge receipt of the offer for the services of Evans Rusike by Maritzburg United Football Club from Hwange Football Club, following the trials Evans attended in South Africa recently. However, the club is in the process of responding to Maritzburg United in this regard. Hwange Football Club will advise on its position once the negotiations have been finalised.”
