This was Everton’s last game in Group H and Pienaar was one of the 10 changes made by Toffees coach Roberto Martinez.

Schillo, as he is known, was a very influential players on the night for the English side and lasted the whole match.

He had a shot at goal but his stinging effort was palmed away by the opposition goalminder.

Even though his team lost the game, Pienaar and his team-mates will proceed to the next stage of the competition.

Ayanda Patosi, former Bafana player as well, saw his team, Sporting Lokeren beat Metalist 1-0 in their final match of their UEFA Europa League group match. Patosi, however, did not play in the game.

Lokeren failed to make it past the group stages.

The round of 32 draw will be made on Monday.
