Sundowns qualified as last season’s Premiership champions, while Chiefs booked their place as runners-up.

Orlando Pirates, the Nedbank Cup champions, and third place finishers in the Premiership, Wits, would participate in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The continental competitions are scheduled to commence in February.
