Fanteni had a trial at Maritzburg United but it ended without the player being offered a deal.

Now the former Ajax Cape Town, Maccabi Haifa, Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits striker is on trial at Moroka Swallows.

At Swallows, the former Bafana Bafana striker will be hoping to impress interim coach Fani Madida.

Madida depends on Siyabonga Nomvethe, Lerato Chabangu and Vuyisile Wana for goals and perhaps an additional striker would give him sufficient options.

It remains to be seen, however, how fit Fanteni is, as this is an area many teams have been complaining about with regards to the Cape Town-born marksman.

Fanteni played for Swallows in their friendly match against ABC Motsepe League side Alexander United this morning. He played as Swallows won 4-2.

Madida, a former striker himself in his heyday, will be keen to see how the  30-year-old striker shapes up for the Dube Birds.
