Baxter – Chiefs pair can lift Bafana

Stuart Baxter believes that Kaizer Chiefs pair Reneilwe Letsyolonyane and Tefu Mashamaite can boost Bafana Bafana in their upcoming AFCON 2015 qualifiers against Congo-Brazzaville.

Shakes Mashaba has added Masahamaite and Letsholonyane to his squad, after they missed out on the Bafana coach’s first two games in charge, the qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria.

That takes Chiefs’ representation in the Bafana squad up to four players, as Mandla Masango and Eric Mathoho are once again in the squad.

“I am not surprised that Msahaba has selected Letsholonyane and Mashamaite,’ Baxter told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

“I think Mashaba will be looking at their experience to bring up the level of commitment and understanding to the team, and bring up the experience. Masha and Yeye will give them just that.”

Bafana will play Congo-Brazzaville in Pointe Noire on October 11 and again in Polokwane on October 15. Congo-Brazzaville currently top Group A with six points, two ahead of Bafana in second.
