Bafana face the Teranga Lions badly needing a victory to take charge of Group D, with only the group winners grabbing a place in the finals in Russia. After one match, Senegal top the group with three points, while Bafana have one from their draw in Ouagadougou against Burkina Faso.
Klate referred to Sundowns’ Caf Champions League final, where they thrashed Zamalek 3-0 in the home leg, to set up victory in the competition.
“At home it is vital to get three points,” said Klate.
“My experience tells me that I know Sundowns scored three times in the Champions League final, and that is how they won the final. At home you need to be ruthless.”
Klate’s displays for Bidvest Wits this season finally earned him a recall to the Bafana squad that most feel has been a long time coming.
“I am here … to be part of the team and do my duty for my country, it is not about me,” said Klate, however.
“My job is to be part of the team and help the team get three points.”
Bafana have called up Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda to the squad as a replacement for the injured Dean Furman.
Senegal have brought and extremely strong side to Polokwane, and captain Cheikhou Kouyate promised his nation that they would come home with a win.
