Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela praised new signing Mitchell Katsvairo after his impressive performance against Maritzburg United over the weekend.

The former Chicken Inn forward made his first start in Chiefs colours on Saturday evening in a league match at the FNB Stadium.

The Zimbabwean was a thorn on the side of the Team of Choice, providing the assist for William Twala’s winning goal and keeping the visitors on their toes.

Amakhosi registered their second win of the 2016/2017 season after beating Highlands Park in last week’s midweek game.

“Maritzburg played with three centre-backs. Katsvairo ran into the channels quite well, and he also allowed the team time to join him upfront. I am happy with his performance,” Komphela told Chiefs’ website.

“It’s important to get the three points,” Komphela said.

“That’s because you think better, as players, when they are not under any pressure. This will help us towards the future.”
