Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his side will challenge for continental glory after winning the Absa Premiership title this season.

Mosimane led Sundowns to their second league title in three seasons with two games to spare.

“I believe in the quality of my team. We were a bit unlucky against AS Vita, but now we have another opportunity to make our mark in Africa. We have proven ourselves in South Africa, but the ultimate goal is to do well against the best on the continent,” Mosimane told the Caf website.

The Brazilians made an early exit from the Caf Champions League when they lost to AS Vita Club, but they automatically dropped into the Caf Confederation Cup.

“It is unfortunate that we were knocked out of the CAF Champions League as this is where you prove to Africa and the rest of the world that you are the best. We have done well this year and now we need to stamp our authority as one of the best clubs in Africa. Just like the CAF Champions League, the CAF Confederation Cup will test our mental and tactical readiness to conquer Africa,” concluded Mosimane.
