Usuthu have failed to gain automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership after slipping down the National First Division league table following a string off poor results, which led to coach Steve Barker being relieved off his duties as a trainer at the club.

The KZN outfit made a number of signings in the January transfer window to aid with the club’s desire to return to South Africa’s elite football league.

“At times we have shown glimpse of brilliance in some games – winning matches convincingly,” Murambadoro told the club’s website.

“Sometimes we have had bad performances that’s why I’m saying we had an average season,” the experienced keeper continued.

“For now I cannot pinpoint the real reason behind our inconsistencies in the league.

“We shall look at all contributing factors at the end of the season and reflect on where it went wrong for us,” Murambadoro concluded.

AmaZulu will take on  Black Leopards on Saturday at the Thohoyandou Stadium Kick-off is at 3.30.
