Amakhosi play Ajax Cape Town on Saturday in the Absa Premiership at FNB Stadium and are basically out of the title race, 15 points behind Sundowns with six games to go. They have already lost in the final of the MTN8 and the Telkom Knockout and been knocked out of the Nedbank Cup and Caf Champions League.
“It is a great honour to lead the team, it comes with great responsibility and also tests your character,” said Tshabalala this week.
“I took that initiative, that pressure to lead the team. Sadly we didn’t get any silverware but I take that as a test as well. I need to remain positive and lead the guys the best way I can and show character and nerve. I will never give up there are six games to go and I need to continue leading the team.
“It has been a tough situation with not winning games and not scoring goals, with the coach being under pressure as well, but this is our job. Sometimes when one is being criticised one must thrive. There are always positives to take from criticism, it helps you grow as a person. You can only take the lessons from the situation and move forward.”
