Stars and Wits meet in back to back clashes

Bidvest Wits and Free State Stars will for a second time this season meet in back to back clashes when the sides meet in a league encounter at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday, before their Nedbank Cup quarter-final fixture at Goble Park a week later.

The team’s met earlier in the season in a league encounter which ended in a goalless draw, followed by the Telkom Knockout clash, where Ea lla Koto emerged as 1-0 winners.

The Clever Boys head into this clash having secured 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos in a midweek league clash as the Johannesburg outfit look to narrow a four point gap at the summit of the table by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Wits on 51 points after 24 matches.

Stars who are eight on the log table are looking to secure a top half finish by the end of the season. The Bethlehem based outfit have been quite impressive in their last fixtures, but they come into this game having lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium.
