Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo claims that Warriors skipper Willard Katsande and vice-captain Knowledge Musona are begging him to continue supporting the national team financially.

Chivayo made headlines a few weeks ago when he announced his decision to pull out of his sponsorship deal with Zimbabwe Football Association because he was not happy with how his money was used.

“I am having sleepless nights: Willard Katsande is texting everyday saying if you withdraw. I will resign as captain,” reads a comment from Chivayo’s Facebook post.

“Musona is also calling and saying ‘boss, journalists are very unprofessional, please forgive us, we need you.”

Katsande was reportedly frustrated by calls from reporters asking him about the alleged text messages.

“Please boss, I don’t want to comment on this saga, even what I’m saying now, I don’t want to see in the newspapers,” Katsande was quoted.

“I’m concentrating on Kaizer Chiefs to get back to winning ways – that’s what I’m trying to focus on, please boss.

“You already wrote on this thing, now you’re calling me, for what?”
