Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela refuses to blame his players for the Soweto derby lose to Orlando Pirates.

Pirates beat Chiefs 2-0 in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“When I go directly into the mistakes, I will not be pointing a finger to our players. One needs to be man enough to own up,” said Komphela.

Komphela has dismissed the idea that his players struggle to cope with the pressure that comes with playing in a match as big as the derby.

“Looking into this match as is, we played extremely well. The passing was perfect until we committed two errors. I don’t think it’s BMT, we performed well. Some coaches will tell you that you need luck to win championship, I don’t subscribe to that I point at the problem and says we need to fix that and move on.”
