March Fantasy Football

It’s a fascinating Gameweek 31 in the Fantasy Premier League, with only half of the English Premier League sides in action, testing the resources of all FPL managers.

For players in Phakaaathi’s Private Fantasy League, it could be a key week in the race to win the grand prize for March, a Canon PowerShot SX730 HS camera worth R4 999. This could well be a time to play the Free Hit chip, if you have few players from the sides in action this weekend, namely Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham, West Ham, Huddersfield, Burnley, Leicester, Bournemouth, and Newcastle. If one does this, the obvious option would appear to be to put the maximum of three Liverpool players in your squad, given that they are at relegation-troubled Fulham, and no doubt in great spirits after their midweek Champions League win at Bayern Munich. Sadio Mane scored twice in that game, one wondrous effort opening the scoring, and he could well be a good pick, while at the back Virgil van Dijk is proving the EPL’s best central defender by some distance this season. Indeed, with 163 points, Van Dijk (Above) is currently the top scoring centre back in the FPL, with only his team-mate, left-back Andy Robertson (169 points), above him in the standings for all defenders. Chelsea’s Eden Hazard may be worth a pick, especially given his return to scoring form against Wolves last weekend – the Blues, however, do have a tough-looking game at Everton on Sunday. Of the other teams in action, West Ham have a game against Huddersfield that could see them grab plenty of goals, with Marko Arnautovic worth a punt, while Declan Rice is the Hammers’ top-scoring midfielder. In the Bournemouth-Newcastle game, the best-looking options look to be in attack, with Salomon Rondon, Josh King, and Callum Wilson all decent options.

There is still plenty of time to win great monthly prizes this season, and Phakaaathi readers can still enter the Phakaaathi Private Fantasy League, by clicking here. The prize for March is Canon PowerShot SX730 HS camera worth R4 999. Good luck!
