Wenger ‘does a Komphela’ with talk of shirts and trousers

The Arsenal manager has left his fans as confused as the Kaizer Chiefs faithful are most of the time.

South African soccer fans have been comparing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela after Wenger left the soccer world scratching its head with a few bizarre comments in a press conference following his 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

He was going on about how “when you find yourself without trousers, you have to put your shirt on”, and other rambling observations.

Wenger has given up on finishing in the top four of the English Premier League this season and even some of the most faithful Gunners fans have started to wonder if they can still place their trust in their long-serving 68-year-old coach.

Chiefs fans are wondering the same thing about their coach, who’s being compared a lot in the fashion stakes these days to Eet-Sum-Mor biscuits.

Komphela remains the ultimate king of strange interviews.

In 2016, after losing a match to Mamelodi Sundowns, Komphela told Robert Marawa about Jesus.

He started talking about how Jesus always uses symbols in his teachings, further saying that he, Komphela, likes to put things in a way “that has a respect in what I am referring to”. He even went as far as asking Marawa if he understood what he was saying, though nobody did, and they still don’t.
