Source have told Phakaaathi that the players were a little uneast about Ertugral’s ways and may have gone on a go-slow protest in the 6-1 defeat to SuperSport United last week.
Ertugral announced after the match that he would be tendering his resignation. Sources also revealed that the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor got wind of the go-slow before the game which prompted him to offer his resignation.
“He (Ertugral) knew just before the game that some players would be on a go-slow and not give their best performance on the night. He considered resigning then, but considered the damage it would do to the club and his own dignity. Imagine a coach resigning just before a game? That would have been crazy,” said one source.
