Should I continue with prenatal classes? Our midwife says yes

Should I go the online route?

Prenatal classes are a key part of any pregnant woman’s pregnancy journey. Preparation is key when getting ready to give birth and taking care of your newborn.

Prenatal classes prepare parents for giving birth, their birthing options, practical birthing tips, and pain management. It gives pregnant women the confidence they need and rids them of anxiety.

The issue now is that attending these classes is a challenge. Pregnant women are not too fond of leaving the house, especially to be around other people. Doulas cannot come to their homes either.

Our resident midwife Ruwaida Moola recommends prenatal classes for moms, especially first-time parents. “Even second and third time moms can benefit from prenatal classes to learn any new developments in child-rearing.”

A lot of service providers have opted to continue serving during this lockdown. This is why some midwives and doulas are offering prenatal classes using Zoom and other platforms.
