The Great Equalizer Podcast – perfect(ish) parenting

This week on The Great Equalizer, Sam scars her child forever, Charlene is feeling surprisingly in control of her life PLUS! Parenty editors Leigh Tayler and Jacqui Bester are IN THE HOUSE to chat perfect(ish) parenting.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome two new clowns to our crazy circus. In fact, we liked them so much we tied them up and put them in our trommel with the rest of our monkeys. So in case, anyone has missed Leigh or Jacqui this past week… We’re keeping them. Thanks.

Guys, this episode was made with love for all parents, but especially those who are having a moment. If you feel like you’ve dropped the ball (or several balls), if you’re drowning in high expectations (mostly from yourself), if you’re sort of feeling kind of like a parent but you’re not so sure anymore…

We see you. We salute you. And we think you should listen to this episode.

Leigh and Jacqui fill us in on how and why the Parenty platform came to be. They also tell us more about how to fail at being the perfect parent, reminding us that your best is still good enough. So stop trying so damn hard!

Listen here:

TGEThe Great Equalizer is hosted by local Joburg moms, Sam Herbst and Charlene Armstrong, who believe that all parents are rocking the same kind of crazy. It doesn’t matter who you were pre-kid, what colour skin you’re in, how rich or poor you are, or whether you’re gay or straight… If you’re a parent, you know what it’s like to smell your kid’s butt in public and you can probably identify with fantasising about killing your sleeping partner during a 03:00 am wakeup call.

Here at The Great Equalizer we laugh, bitch and cry about the ups and downs of our current upside-down. There’s just one rule (and it’s non-negotiable)… absolutely NO JUDGIES. Okay? Okay.

*And because your hosts don’t know what the frack they’re doing 99% of the time, we touch base with experts who do. So, hey, you may just learn something too ????
