Former president Jacob Zuma took to social media to thank his supporters and followers and those who supported him during his court appearances.
In a video he posted on Sunday, the former president acknowledged those who had been with him in good and bad times in the past.
“I thought I should thank my supporters. Thank you for the support you have shown to me over a long period and in the recent past. Support when I go to appear in court, it has been tremendous.
“Thank you very much for that support, it means a lot to me. I know you’re always with me and I’m always with you. Also the support you give to the social media, it is absolutely amazing and indeed humbling. Thank you very much indeed,” he said.
The president further thanked those who had chanted his name at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Stadium.
“Also the support you show me when I campaign as well as the support you showed me at the Moses Mabhida Stadium rally when the ANC was launching its manifesto.”
EWN on Saturday posted a video showing the crowd going crazy for Zuma. Many on Twitter also noted the extremely positive reception the ex-president was met with.
KwaZulu-Natal remains very much Zuma’s stronghold.
