Woman killed in Westville accident
Paramedics found the woman lying in the emergency lane, and the wrecked car was in the right-hand lane.
A pedestrian was hit by a car in Westville earlier today.
A 44-year-old woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a car on the M13, after the Jan Hofmeyer Bridge in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal.
Paramedics, along with the fire services found the woman lying in the emergency lane and the wrecked car was in the right-hand lane, Highway Mail reported.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics assessed the woman and found she had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.
“Nothing could be done for the woman and she was declared dead at the scene,” said Meiring.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. He was treated and then transported to hospital.
