A homeowner was held up and robbed of several items before being assaulted with the butt of a gun in Glenashley, Durban.
Durban North police spokesperson Captain Raymond Deokaran said the incident occurred on Adrienne Avenue at about 7pm on Tuesday, Northglen News reported.
“The homeowner was at home at the time of the robbery. She heard a noise and noticed three men, one of whom stood outside her kitchen door keeping watch. The two remaining suspects forced opened the kitchen door and entered the premises. One of the suspects with the gun told the homeowner not to make a noise. When she began screaming for help, they struck her over the head using the butt of the gun.”
“They demanded to know where the valuables were, and she took them to one of the rooms that contained jewellery. The suspects took a flat-screen TV and jewellery. The suspects then drove off with the valuables in a silver Ford,” he said.
No arrests have been made as yet.
