Elderly woman killed after being struck by truck

A woman in her 70s died when she was hit by a truck on Prince’s Avenue in Benoni, on the East Rand.

The incident happened near Tom Jones Street, just before 6pm, on Monday, Benoni City Times reported.

ER24 spokesperson Liam Hardy said the elderly woman was knocked down by an 18-wheeler.

Authorities are on scene to investigate details surrounding the incident.
