Firefighters hailed as heroes took part in a unity march in Knysna today while gentle rain fell, Knysna Plett Herald reports. These brave men and women were honoured for their dedication and bravery during the devastating fires in Knysna and surrounds last week.
The march was hosted by Working on Fire.
Eleanore Bouw-Spies, Knysna mayor, with the team of firefighters.

Members of the community were clearly touched and proud of these firefighting men and women.
According to Knysna fire chief, Clinton Manuel, there have been some flare-ups, but these are all being dealt with.
The situation is being monitored.
