The month of February is best known for Valentine’s Day and, well, being the shortest month. But if you don’t have a Valentine and your salary is done and dusted by the 28th, then why not console yourself with this cute, short video that celebrates one of the most helpful dog breeds around: the Golden Retriever.
That’s because February also honours one of the most popular breeds of dogs around – and rightfully so. The Golden Retriever is popular as an assistance companion for the blind and the deaf. In addition, they are also trained for hunting and detection, as well as for search and rescue work.
While its over-friendly, gentle temperament means it is unlikely to make a good, professional guard dog, it is the third most popular family dog breed in the United States and other parts of the world.
