A man has been rescued after he was trapped on a pillar underneath at the Connaught Bridge in uMgeni, Durban, on Monday.
It is believed the man had been stuck for two days before being spotted, Northglen News reported.
Garrith Jamieson of Rescue Care said it was unclear how the man got there.
“The man was stuck there for two days. Rescuers are feeding him to get his energy up before attempting to move him using a rope system set in place. He can’t remember how he got under the bridge.
“It’s believed a fisherman spotted the man stuck under the bridge and alerted authorities. The man has been lowered to the bottom of the bridge by rescue workers,” he said.
