A video of Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema telling male Durban July attendees to go back to their hotel rooms and have sex with their women has been circulating on social media.

In the video, the EFF leader can be seen standing in a DJ booth and holding a microphone as he tells people to leave the venue.

Malema says in Sepedi: “They say sex in English is nice, but when it is said in our language, you’re using vulgar language. That’s self-hate. Stop self-hate. Sex is sex. Whether unyoba or ke sex, it’s the same. Sex is sex in any language. Go to your rooms and have sex. Take your alcohol with you. Your women are waiting for you, stop sleeping here. You’re scared of women; you are all packed up here. Let’s go. Thank you very much.”

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Sowetan, the EFF leader took to the stage after police were called to one of the parties after it had gone past 2am.

The EFF leader had joined other South Africans who attended the Durban July that took place at Greyville Racecourse. He rocked a grey suit along with EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee, along with deputy president Floyd Shivambu, who was in a black suit.

Malema was joined by his wife, Mantwa, who was in a red number.
