Thursday, 27 April 2017 marks the 23rd year of Democracy in South Africa, the national public holiday celebrates freedom and commemorated the first post-apartheid elections held on the day in 1994.
Leaders of various South African political parties, religious leaders and anti-Zuma supporters are gathered in Caledonia stadium in Pretoria for the Freedom Movement rally against President Jacob Zuma.
Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter, Ndileka Mandela is one of the many public figures who are set to speak at the rally.
