Rush-hour traffic came to a standstill when a fire broke out in Port Shepstone CBD, KwaZulu-Natal, this morning.
Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue rushed out to Nelson Mandela Drive to extinquish the blaze from spreading to other shops in the Gangat Centre at about 7am.
The fire started in a computer training business. No one was injured in the fire, which drew a large crowd of onlookers, who watched firefighters extinguish the blaze.
“At present detectives will be looking for signs as to what have possibly caused the fire and an investigation will be conducted into this matter. We are at present not aware of any injuries or fatalities caused by the fire,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
