WATCH: Father kills son after mistaking him for hijacker
A father has allegedly shot and killed his son outside Fred Norman Secondary School in Ennerdale after mistaking him for a hijacker.

Police say that the 14-year-old boy’s death appears to be a tragic mistake. The man was surprised when his son returned to his car after attending a study group at the school and reacted by shooting him, eNCA has reported.
The man claims he thought his son was a hijacker.

According to police spokesperson Mpande Khoza, when the father realised what had happened, he rushed to the nearest hospital, but was too late, as the child died along the way.
Last night just after 9pm a learner was shot dead by his dad outside school. He was studying with fellow learners when his dad arrived

“The father will appear today or tomorrow in court where the prosecutor and the magistrate will decide whether he will be granted bail or denied bail,” Khoza said.
Gauteng department of education MEC Panyaza Lesufi conveyed his condolences on Twitter on Wednesday.
