A woman believed to be in her 30s had to be airlifted to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Luipaardsvlei near the R28 between Krugersdorp and Randfontein early this morning on the West Rand, Randfontein Herald reports.
It is alleged the woman sustained critical injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital.

It is believed a motorist travelling from Randfontein on the R28 turned into Tom Muller Street and hit the woman.
ER24, Netcare 911, QRS and other emergency services were on scene, along with many bystanders.
